The minimum rental period is 3 days. To rent a car with Duluxe, the main driver must have held a valid driving license for more than 2 years.

• To ensure a smooth rental process, please provide the following documents:

  1. A valid driving license with more than 2 years of driving experience.

  2. A valid passport (for tourists) or a National Identity Card (for locals).

  3. Proof of address or your accommodation reservation in Mauritius.

• Payment is due upon pick-up of the car. We accept the following payment modes:

• Credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Please note that a 4% additional fee applies for bank processing.

• Cash: We accept Mauritian Rupees (MUR). Clients may request to pay in Euro (EUR), US Dollars (USD), or UAE Dirhams (AED), but please be aware that the exchange rate provided will not be the exact day-to-day market rate.

• Bank transfer (please inquire for details on how to proceed with this option in advance).

• Yes, you can have an additional driver. The first additional driver is free of charge! All additional drivers must also meet our age and documentation requirements.

• Yes, you can extend your rental period. You need to notify Duluxe Car Rentals 48 hours in advance for an extension. Extensions are subject to vehicle availability and additional payment, and may be difficult to accommodate during peak season.

• Yes! Book your car more than 4 months in advance and receive a 10% discount on your rental. Please note that a downpayment will be required to secure this offer. Contact us for more details!

Yes, all our rentals come with unlimited mileage, allowing you to explore Mauritius freely!

Our fuel policy is “return with the same level as picked up.” If the car is returned with less fuel than at pick-up, Duluxe Car Rentals will estimate the cost and charge the client upon return of the car.

Your rental car is expected to be returned in a reasonably clean condition. If a car is returned and requires excessive cleaning, a cleaning fee ranging from Rs 400 to Rs 700 will be applicable, depending on the size of the car.

For short visits up to 4 weeks, a valid national license (in English characters) often suffices. However, for longer stays, or if your license isn’t in English, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is highly recommended for smoother interactions with rental companies and police in Mauritius.

Yes, child seats and booster seats are available upon request. There is normally a small extra charge, typically between Rs100 to Rs200, although they may be provided free of charge depending on your booking period. Yes, we offer delivery and collection services all over the island, including SSR International Airport (MRU). The delivery cost ranges from Rs800 to Rs1200 per way, depending on the location.

Please note the following regarding cancellations:

• Any downpayment made is non-refundable.

• Early returns are not refundable.

No security deposit is required. However, in the unfortunate event of an at-fault accident or damage, the excess for insurance is Rs25,000.

All our cars are fully insured. This includes Personal Accident Insurance (PAI), Theft Waiver (TW), and third-party liability coverage, meaning passengers are also insured. Please be aware that there is an excess of Rs25,000 for which the renter is liable in case of an at-fault accident or damage.

In case of an accident or breakdown, please follow these steps immediately:

2. Take clear photos of the scene, including involved vehicles, driving licenses, and the car’s insurance vignette found on the windscreen.

3. Call the police if required, especially for injuries or if other parties are involved.

4. Fill out the accident report form found in the glovebox of your rental car.

Generally, yes. Roads are in good condition, especially main roads and highways. However, be aware of peak hour traffic, narrow village roads, and unexpected obstacles like stray dogs or pedestrians. Always be cautious and follow traffic laws.
